The Forensics: Preston’s Rising Indie Rock Stars
From Bedroom Beats to Indie Anthems
Hailing from Preston, Lancashire, The Forensics have carved their own path in the UK indie scene. What began as frontman Liam Reilly’s solo electronic project (under the name Reilly James) during lockdown has evolved into a dynamic four-piece band. With Dan Lewis (drums), Jordan King (lead guitar), and Paul Clayton (bass), they’ve traded club beats for gritty, emotionally charged indie rock—and fans are loving it.
Eight Singles and a Growing Legacy
Since forming in 2021, The Forensics have dropped eight well-received singles, blending catchy hooks with raw, unpredictable energy. Their electrifying live shows have sold out venues across Preston, Manchester, and even Glasgow, sharing stages with acts like The Snuts and Andrew Cushin. Their latest single, “Maxine,” teases their upcoming debut EP—promising their biggest sound yet.
Adaptability: Their Secret Weapon
The band’s journey hasn’t been without challenges, including a lineup change that brought Paul Clayton into the fold. “It wasn’t easy, but it made us stronger,” they admit. Their willingness to evolve—from electronic to indie rock—has kept their sound fresh. “We’ve changed, but we’ve always stayed true to ourselves,” says Liam.
Lessons from the Road
-
Professionalism opens doors – “The industry’s small—word travels fast.”
-
Protect your vision – “If something doesn’t feel right, speak up.”
-
Patience pays off – “Good things take time. Enjoy the ride.”
Tuning Out the Noise
Every rising band faces critics, but The Forensics take it in stride. “If people hate us, it means we’re making noise,” Liam laughs. Their strategy? Thick skin, tight bonds, and focusing on the music.
What’s Next?
With an EP on the way and more live dates in the works, The Forensics are just getting started. “We’re here to make honest music—and we’re not slowing down.”
