Unplug For The Ultimate Escape: Four Winds Music Fest Ontario

Four Winds Music Fest Returns as Ontario’s “Anti-Gimmick” Summer Escape
DURHAM, ON — In a summer landscape dominated by oversized stages and sponsor-heavy spectacles, Four Winds Music Fest is taking a different path—one rooted in nature, storytelling, and connection.
Returning July 10–12, 2026, at the scenic Riverstone Campus along the Saugeen River, the festival offers a refreshing alternative: no ferris wheels, no flashing distractions—just music, land, and community.
Set across 136 acres of historic farmstead, trails, and riverside beauty, Four Winds has quickly become a destination for music fans seeking a more meaningful live experience. Just minutes from the heart of Durham in Grey County, the festival blends a high-calibre lineup with the kind of setting that feels closer to a retreat than a traditional concert venue.
This year’s largely Canadian lineup features standout artists including Blackie & The Rodeo Kings, Tim Baker, The Bros. Landreth, Tom Wilson, Begonia, Georgia Harmer, and Amanda Rheaume, alongside a diverse roster of emerging and established voices across roots, folk, and indie genres.
As audiences across the GTA and Southwestern Ontario look for more intentional ways to spend their summer weekends, Four Winds has emerged as a leader in what many are calling the “slow festival” movement.
“We aren’t trying to be the loudest weekend on your calendar; we want to be the most restorative,” says Executive Director Ariana Dalie. “At Riverstone, the music competes with the sound of the river and the wind through the trees. It’s about stripping away the noise and reconnecting with why live music matters—connection and storytelling.”
Beyond the music, the experience extends into everything Grey County has to offer—from exploring nearby conservation trails and swimming at McGowan Falls to discovering local diners, cideries, and craft breweries. Festival goers can also enjoy stargazing at the Riverstone Campus observatory, far from urban light pollution.
New for 2026, the Heritage and Cultural Stage—developed in partnership with Elephant Thoughts—will serve as a centerpiece for Indigenous storytelling and traditional music, creating an intentional, unplugged space where artists and audiences connect on a deeper level.
Designed as a full weekend escape, the festival offers three-day camping passes for those looking to fully immerse themselves in the environment. The site also includes accessible facilities to accommodate a wide range of needs, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming experience.
With the recent loss of beloved community events like Riverfest, Four Winds Music Fest has quickly become a vital gathering point for fans of intimate, roots-driven festivals—offering a rare “family-and-friends” atmosphere that larger events simply can’t replicate.
